Wallace "Wally" Wood (1927-1981) was an American comics artist, born in Minnesota. He made his name at EC Comics in the early 1950s, drawing the science-fiction titles Weird Science and Weird Fantasy, horror stories for The Haunt of Fear, and contributing to Mad from its first issue. A sought-after illustrator for Galaxy magazine, he later drew Daredevil for Marvel, created T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents at Tower in 1965, and self-published the anthology witzend. His dense linework and science-fiction settings made him one of the defining artists of the genre.
