
French novelist and screenwriter, born on 1 September 1961 in Choisy-le-Roi. He came to crime fiction with La Commedia des ratés, which won the Grand Prix de littérature policière in 1992, and went on to write Saga (1997), Quelqu'un d'autre (2001) and Malavita (2004), filmed by Luc Besson. He has won two César awards, for the screenplay of Sur mes lèvres and for the adaptation of De battre mon cœur s'est arrêté. With Daniel Pennac he also writes Lucky Luke albums drawn by Achdé, among them Lucky Luke Versus the Pinkertons and Cavalier seul.
