Tim LaHaye (1926-2016) was an American Baptist minister, author and political activist, born in Detroit and died in San Diego. He served in the United States Army Air Forces during the Second World War, graduated from Bob Jones University, and founded Christian Heritage College in 1971 and the Council for National Policy in 1981. With Jerry B. Jenkins he wrote the Left Behind series, twelve apocalyptic novels published from 1995 onwards and later adapted into graphic novels and films. He also wrote the Babylon Rising series and, with his wife Beverly LaHaye, the marriage manual The Act of Marriage.
