Steven Erikson, the pen name of Steve Rune Lundin, is a Canadian fantasy and science-fiction author born in Toronto in 1959. Trained as an archaeologist and anthropologist, he is a graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop. He is best known for the ten-volume epic fantasy Malazan Book of the Fallen, and has since written the Kharkanas Trilogy, the ongoing Tales of Witness and the comic science-fiction Willful Child trilogy.
