Richard Starkings (born 1962) is a British comics letterer, writer and type designer. He lettered for Marvel UK, 2000 AD and Doctor Who Magazine in the 1980s, edited Death's Head and Dragon's Claws at Marvel UK, and in 1992 founded Comicraft, the studio that did much to move comics lettering from hand to computer and that sells the typefaces it designs. Hip Flask, a character he first drew up to advertise those fonts, grew into the science-fiction series Elephantmen, which he has written for Image Comics since 2006 and which is the bulk of his own authored work.
