Peter J. Kitson

Peter J. Kitson is a British literary scholar, Emeritus Professor of Romantic Literature and Culture at the University of East Anglia. His work covers race, slavery and empire in Romantic-period writing, and Sino-British cultural exchange, the subject of Forging Romantic China (Cambridge University Press). With Debbie Lee he edited the eight-volume documentary set Slavery, Abolition and Emancipation: Writings in the British Romantic Period. He has presided over both the English Association and the British Association for Romantic Studies.
