Ottessa Moshfegh (born 1981 in Boston) is an American novelist and short-story writer. After early stories in The New Yorker and The Paris Review, she published the novella McGlue (2014) and the novel Eileen (2015), a finalist for the Man Booker Prize and winner of the PEN/Hemingway Award. She is best known for the novels My Year of Rest and Relaxation (2018), Death in Her Hands (2020) and Lapvona (2022), and for the short-story collection Homesick for Another World.
