Nicola Yoon

Nicola Yoon is a Jamaican-American novelist, born in 1972 and raised between Jamaica and Brooklyn. Trained as an electrical engineer at Cornell University and later at Emerson College, she worked on Wall Street before turning to fiction full-time in 2015. Her first novel, Everything, Everything, debuted at number one on the New York Times bestseller list and was adapted for the screen in 2017. The Sun Is Also a Star (2016) received a Michael L. Printz Honor and the Coretta Scott King New Talent Award, was a National Book Award finalist and became a film in 2019. She is also the author of Instructions for Dancing and the adult novel One of Our Kind, and co-founded, with her husband David Yoon, the Random House imprint Joy Revolution, dedicated to diverse YA romance.
