Nick Hornby

Nick Hornby (born 1957 in Redhill, Surrey) is an English novelist, essayist and screenwriter. He first drew notice with Fever Pitch (1992), a memoir of his life as an Arsenal supporter, then with the novels High Fidelity (1995) and About a Boy (1998), both adapted for the screen. His later fiction includes How to Be Good (2001), A Long Way Down (2005), Slam (2007), Juliet, Naked (2009), Funny Girl (2014) and Just Like You (2020). He also writes about music and reading, in 31 Songs (2003) and Dickens and Prince (2022), and for the cinema: his screenplays for An Education (2009) and Brooklyn (2015) were each nominated for an Academy Award.
