N.K. Jemisin

N. K. Jemisin (Nora Keita Jemisin) is an American science-fiction and fantasy writer, born on 19 September 1972 in Iowa City, Iowa. She studied psychology and worked as a counsellor before writing full-time. Her Inheritance Trilogy began with “The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms” (2010), but she is best known for the Broken Earth trilogy — “The Fifth Season”, “The Obelisk Gate” and “The Stone Sky” (2015-2017) — which made her the first author to win the Hugo Award for Best Novel three years running, once for each volume. She then wrote the Great Cities duology (2020-2022). She was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship in 2020.
