Milena Moser

Milena Moser is a Swiss writer, born on 13 July 1963 in Zurich, the daughter of the writer Paul Pörtner and the psychologist Marlis Pörtner. Trained in the book trade, she founded her own imprint, Krösus Verlag, where her first texts appeared. Her 1991 novel “Die Putzfraueninsel” found a wide readership and was adapted for the screen by Peter Timm; it reached French readers as “L'île des femmes de ménage” (Calmann-Lévy, 1994). She has since published some twenty books, with Rowohlt, then Nagel & Kimche and Kein & Aber, among them “Land der Söhne” (2018), “Der Traum vom Fliegen” (2023) and “Schreiben – Eine Ermutigung” (2025). She lived in San Francisco from 1998 to 2006 and settled in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 2015.
