Mélissa Da Costa

Mélissa Da Costa, born in 1990 in Mâcon, is a French novelist. She grew up in the Ain, studied economics and worked in communications before writing full time from 2020. Her first novel, “Tout le bleu du ciel” (2019), had been self-published in two volumes in 2017–2018 under the title “Recherche compagnon de voyage pour ultime escapade”, then was taken up by Carnets Nord; it went on to spend years among France's best-selling paperbacks. She has published with Albin Michel ever since — “Les Lendemains”, “Je revenais des autres”, “Tenir debout”, “Fauves” — novels about grief, rebuilding and the natural world. She won the Prix Alain-Fournier in 2020 and the Prix Babelio in 2022.
