Kristin Hannah

Kristin Hannah is an American novelist, born on 25 September 1960 in California. A former attorney, she published her first novel, A Handful of Heaven, in 1991, and lives on Bainbridge Island, Washington. She became widely read with Firefly Lane (2008), adapted as a Netflix series, and with The Nightingale (2015), the story of two French sisters under the German occupation. The Great Alone (2018), set in Alaska, The Four Winds (2021), set during the Great Depression, and The Women (2024), about an American nurse in Vietnam, followed. A film adaptation of The Nightingale is announced for 2027.
