Ken Penders is an American comics writer and artist, born in 1958. He wrote Archie Comics' Sonic the Hedgehog series and its Knuckles the Echidna spin-off from 1993 to 2006, creating a large cast of original characters along the way, and worked on nearly every stage of the books, art included. A copyright dispute with Archie over those characters was settled in his favour in 2013. He has since developed his own series, The Lara-Su Chronicles.
