Katherine Rundell

Katherine Rundell is a British writer and academic, born in Kent in 1987 and brought up in Zimbabwe and Brussels. A Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford, where she completed a doctorate on John Donne, she writes both for children and for adults. Her children's novels include “Rooftoppers” (2013), “The Wolf Wilder” (2015), “The Explorer” (2017), which won the Costa Children's Book Award, “The Good Thieves” (2019) and “Impossible Creatures” (2023), the opening of a projected five-book sequence continued by “The Poisoned King” (2025). For adults she has written the essay “Why You Should Read Children's Books, Even Though You Are So Old and Wise” (2019), “Super-Infinite: The Transformations of John Donne” (2022), which won the Baillie Gifford Prize, and “The Golden Mole” (2022).
