John Carpenter

American filmmaker, composer and comics writer, born on 16 January 1948 in Carthage, New York. He directed Halloween (1978), The Fog, Escape from New York, The Thing, Christine, Big Trouble in Little China and They Live, and composed the synthesiser scores for most of them. Since 2013 he has written and produced horror comics through Storm King Comics, the imprint founded by Sandy King, including the annual anthology John Carpenter's Tales for a HalloweeNight; BOOM! Studios published his Escape from New York series from 2014.
