Johann Hari

British-Swiss journalist and non-fiction writer, born in Glasgow in 1979 and raised in London. Hari read social and political sciences at King's College, Cambridge, and worked as a columnist for the Independent and the Huffington Post before turning to book-length reporting. His investigations include Chasing the Scream (2015) on the war on drugs, Lost Connections (2018) on depression, Stolen Focus (2022) on attention, and Magic Pill (2024) on weight-loss drugs. His books have been translated into more than forty languages, and his TED talks have been viewed more than eighty million times.
