Jean-Claude Fournier

Jean-Claude Fournier, born 21 May 1943 in Paris, is a French comics author. He studied drawing in Paris while taking evening classes in theatre, and created the character Bizu in 1967, publishing his stories until 1994. Chosen to succeed Andre Franquin, he wrote and drew Spirou et Fantasio from 1968 to 1980 and produced nine albums, from Le Faiseur d'or to Des haricots partout. From 1998 he drew Les Crannibales to scripts by Zidrou, eight albums for Dupuis. He was made a chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2014 and an officier in 2022.
