American writer of comics, horror and science fiction, born in Wichita, Kansas, in 1950. He began in comics, writing Sword of the Atom with Gil Kane for DC, creating Dalgoda with Dennis Fujitake, and collaborating repeatedly with the artist Richard Corben; his graphic novel Ragemoor won the Spanish Haxtur award for best script in 2013. He later wrote for Disney Television Animation on series including Darkwing Duck and Aladdin, and has since turned to prose, with the novels Risen and The Summer We Lost Alice.
