
Isabelle Wéry is a Belgian actress, theatre director and novelist, born in Liège in 1970. She graduated from INSAS in Brussels in 1991 and has performed in Belgium, France, Italy and the United Kingdom, notably in The Vagina Monologues, while writing and staging her own plays, among them La Mort du cochon. Her novel Marilyn désossée (maelstrÖm, 2013) won the European Union Prize for Literature and has been translated into about a dozen languages. She has also published Monsieur René (2006), the poetry collection Saisons culottes amis, Poney flottant (ONLIT, 2018), Lily-Jane explose (ONLIT, 2021) and Rouge western (Au diable vauvert, 2023); three of her novels have been shortlisted for the Prix Victor-Rossel.
