Hirohiko Araki

Hirohiko Araki is a Japanese manga artist, born on 7 June 1960 in Sendai. He made his debut in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1980 with the one-shot Buso Poker, then published Baoh (1984-1985) and Gorgeous Irene. In 1987 he began JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, a multi-generational fantasy saga told in successive parts — Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, Stardust Crusaders, Diamond Is Unbreakable, Golden Wind, Stone Ocean, Steel Ball Run, JoJolion — which moved from Weekly Shonen Jump to Ultra Jump in 2005 and has continued since February 2023 as The JOJOLands. In 2009 the Louvre invited him to create Rohan at the Louvre, published in 2010. He also published an essay on his storytelling and drawing method in 2015.
