Gregg Hurwitz

Gregg Hurwitz is an American thriller writer, born in 1973. He took a BA at Harvard in 1995 and an MPhil at Trinity College, Oxford, in 1996, on Shakespearean tragedy. After early standalones — The Tower, Minutes to Burn, Do No Harm — he wrote the four Tim Rackley novels (2004-2007). In 2016 he began Orphan X, following Evan Smoak, a former operative of a covert assassin program who now answers calls as the Nowhere Man; eleven novels have followed, from Orphan X to Antihero (2026). He also writes comics for DC (Batman: The Dark Knight, Penguin: Pain and Prejudice) and Marvel (Punisher, Wolverine, Moon Knight), and screenplays including The Book of Henry and Sweet Girl.
