Eric Powell

Eric Powell is an American cartoonist, born on 3 March 1975. He is the creator of The Goon, a horror-comedy series launched at Avatar Press in 2000 and continued at Dark Horse Comics from 2003. His other work includes Billy the Kid's Old-Timey Oddities (Dark Horse, 2006), Chimichanga and Hillbilly, published through Albatross Exploding Funny Books, the imprint he founded and which became a Dark Horse imprint in 2022. He has won several Eisner Awards, among them Best Single Issue (2004), Best Continuing Series (2005) and Best Writer/Artist, Humor (2008), as well as an International Horror Guild Award in 2004.
