Elvire Murail

French writer, born on 7 June 1958 in Le Havre. The daughter of the poet Gérard Murail, she is the sister of the novelists Marie-Aude and Lorris Murail and of the composer Tristan Murail. She writes adult fiction under her own name, beginning with Escalier C in 1983, and has signed her children's and young-adult books as Moka since 1989. With Marie-Aude and Lorris she wrote Golem, a five-book series published by Pocket Jeunesse in 2002 about a video game that spills into the real world, translated into English by Walker Books.
