Elizabeth Day is a British writer and broadcaster, born in 1978, who was a feature writer for The Observer before turning full-time to books and podcasting. Her novels — Scissors, Paper, Stone, Home Fires, Paradise City, The Party and Magpie — often centre on secrets and marriage. In 2018 she launched the podcast How to Fail with Elizabeth Day, in which guests discuss what their failures taught them; the show has since sold out theatre tours. Her non-fiction includes the memoir How to Fail: Everything I've Ever Learned from Things Going Wrong, the pocket book Failosophy and Friendaholic: Confessions of a Friendship Addict.
