Denise Allen

Denise Allen is an art historian and curator specialising in Italian Renaissance painting and sculpture. She was associate curator in the paintings department of the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles before joining The Frick Collection in New York, where between 2003 and 2014 she organised six exhibitions devoted to the Renaissance bronze statuette, among them European Bronzes from the Quentin Collection (2004), Andrea Riccio (2008), Antico (2012) and Renaissance and Baroque Bronzes from the Hill Collection (2014). She is now a curator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she worked on the catalogue of its Italian Renaissance and Baroque bronzes.
