Catherine Ryan Howard

Catherine Ryan Howard is an Irish crime writer, born in 1982 and raised in Cork. She worked as a campsite courier in France and at a Walt Disney World hotel in Florida, and self-published books about those years before turning to fiction. Her first thriller, “Distress Signals” (2016), was shortlisted for the Crime Writers' Association John Creasey New Blood Dagger; “The Liar's Girl” (2018) was shortlisted for the Edgar Award for Best Novel; and “56 Days” (2021) won the crime fiction prize at the An Post Irish Book Awards. She has since published “Run Time” (2022), “The Trap” (2023), “Burn After Reading” (2025) and “Buyer Beware” (2026). Her novels are standalone and are translated into some twenty languages.
