Cal Newport

Cal Newport (born 1982) is an American computer scientist and author. A professor of computer science at Georgetown University, he writes about the intersection of technology, work and focus. After early study-skills guides, he turned to ideas about career and attention with So Good They Can't Ignore You (2012), followed by Deep Work (2016), Digital Minimalism (2019), A World Without Email (2021) and Slow Productivity (2024). Several of his books have been New York Times bestsellers, translated into more than forty languages.
