Bernard Vrancken, born in Ixelles in 1965, is a Belgian comics artist working in a realistic style. Trained at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels under Eddy Paape, he published his first stories in Tintin at sixteen. Almost all his work is with writer Stephen Desberg: Le Sang noir, a four-album saga set in the 19th-century Antilles, and I.R.$, a financial thriller begun in 1999 and continued over more than twenty volumes, published in English by Cinebook.
