Becky Albertalli is an American novelist for young adults, born in Atlanta in 1982. She worked as a clinical psychologist with LGBTQ teenagers before turning to fiction. Her first novel, Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda (2015), won the William C. Morris Award and became the film Love, Simon (2018) and the series Love, Victor; it opens a loosely linked set of books around the same Georgia high school, with The Upside of Unrequited (2017), Leah on the Offbeat (2018) and Love, Creekwood (2020). She has since written Kate in Waiting (2021), Imogen, Obviously (2023) and Amelia, If Only (2025), and co-written three novels with Adam Silvera and Aisha Saeed.
