Arno Camenisch is a Swiss writer, born on 1 February 1978 in Tavanasa, in the canton of Graubünden. He writes in both German and Sursilvan Romansh, sometimes mixing the two within a single book, and graduated from the Swiss Literature Institute in Biel/Bienne in 2010. His Grisons trilogy — Sez Ner (2009), Hinter dem Bahnhof (2010) and Ustrinkata (2012), which won a Swiss Literature Award — was published in English by Dalkey Archive Press as The Alp, Behind the Station and Last Last Orders, in Donal McLaughlin's translation. Later books include Fred und Franz (2013), Die Kur (2015), Der letzte Schnee (2018) and Herr Anselm (2019). A longtime member of the spoken-word collective Bern ist überall, he performs his texts on stage.
