Anna McPartlin is an Irish novelist and screenwriter, born in 1972 and living in Dublin. She worked as a stand-up comic before turning to fiction, and kept the comic's instinct for finding humour in the bleakest material. Her sixth novel, The Last Days of Rabbit Hayes (2014), follows a young mother through her final week in a hospice; it was a Richard and Judy book club pick in Britain and has been translated into some fifteen languages. She returned to the same family in Below the Big Blue Sky (2020), published Waiting for the Miracle in 2021 and The Silent Ones in 2025, and has written for television, including Holby City for the BBC and Striking Out for RTÉ.
