Alastair Reynolds is a Welsh science-fiction novelist, born on 13 March 1966 in Barry, Wales. Trained as an astronomer, he worked for the European Space Agency until 2004 before writing full-time. His debut novel “Revelation Space” (2000) opened a hard science-fiction sequence set in the same universe, which now spans a dozen novels and short stories. He has also written the Poseidon's Children trilogy, the Revenger young-adult series, and standalone novels such as “House of Suns” (2008), “Terminal World” (2010) and “Eversion” (2022).
