Al Williamson (Manhattan, 1931 – Upstate New York, 2010) was an American comics artist. He began working professionally in 1948 and drew science fiction for EC Comics in the 1950s, on Weird Science and Weird Fantasy. He took over Flash Gordon for King Comics from 1966, drew the Secret Agent X-9 / Corrigan newspaper strip from 1967 to 1980, and adapted The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi as well as the Star Wars newspaper strip. He won Eisner Awards for best inker in 1991 and 1997 and entered the Eisner Hall of Fame in 2000.
