Travis Thompson

Travis Thompson was an American psychologist who worked at the meeting point of behavior analysis, ethology and pharmacology. He took his PhD at the University of Minnesota in 1961 and, with Charles R. Schuster, wrote the first textbook of behavioral pharmacology; he later edited the serial Advances in Behavioral Pharmacology. He directed the John F. Kennedy Center for Human Development at Vanderbilt University and held the Smith Professorship of Psychiatry at the University of Kansas Medical Center before returning to the University of Minnesota in 2003, where he taught and worked clinically on autism and developmental disabilities. He died in 2023.
