J. M. DeMatteis (born 1953) is an American comic book writer and novelist. With Keith Giffen and artist Kevin Maguire he wrote the comedic Justice League International run for DC Comics in the late 1980s, a partnership the two revived decades later on Justice League 3000. For Marvel he wrote Captain America, The Amazing Spider-Man and the 1987 storyline Kraven's Last Hunt. His creator-owned work includes Moonshadow, drawn by Jon J Muth for Epic Comics, and Abadazad, with Mike Ploog.
