Charles Mandrake

The Charles Mandrake novels are a self-published portal fantasy series signed with the name of their own protagonist. They follow three friends from the coastal town of East Bay, Maine — Charles, Anna and Todd — who cross into the parallel world of Skelderheim. The series runs to three books: Charles Mandrake and the Resonance Array, Charles Mandrake and the Keeper of the Flame and Charles Mandrake and the Return to Skelderheim. A companion series for younger readers, Azaya's Streets of Skelderheim, is set in the same world. The books are written as slow-burn, character-led fantasy, with no romance plot.
