Virginia C. Andrews

V. C. Andrews, born Cleo Virginia Andrews (Portsmouth, Virginia, 1923 – Virginia Beach, 1986), was an American novelist. Flowers in the Attic, published in 1979, made her name and opened the Dollanganger family series, continued by Petals on the Wind, If There Be Thorns and Seeds of Yesterday. She died of breast cancer in 1986. Her publisher then hired the novelist Andrew Neiderman to go on writing under her name, which is why books signed V. C. Andrews have continued to appear ever since.
