Tana French

Tana French is an American-born Irish novelist, born in 1973 in Burlington, Vermont, who has lived in Dublin since 1990 and trained as an actor at Trinity College Dublin. Her debut, In the Woods (2007), launched the Dublin Murder Squad series and won the Edgar Award for best first novel; the series continued with The Likeness, Faithful Place, Broken Harbour, The Secret Place and The Trespasser. She has since written the standalone The Witch Elm (2018) and the Cal Hooper trilogy — The Searcher (2020), The Hunter (2024) and The Keeper (2026). Often called the First Lady of Irish Crime, her work has won the Edgar, Anthony, Macavity, Barry and Los Angeles Times Book Prize.
