Shari Lapena is a Canadian novelist, born in 1960 and living in Toronto. She worked as a lawyer and then as an English teacher before publishing her first novels of literary fiction — “Things Go Flying” (2008) and “Happiness Economics” (2011) — both shortlisted for Canadian awards. She turned to the psychological thriller with “The Couple Next Door” (2016), an international bestseller, and has since written a string of domestic suspense novels published in more than forty countries.
