Olivier Norek is a French novelist, born in Toulouse in 1975. He worked with a humanitarian NGO in the former Yugoslavia, then served for eighteen years as a police captain in the criminal investigation department of Seine-Saint-Denis, north of Paris. That work fed his first crime novels, published in English as “The Lost and the Damned” (2020), “Turf Wars” (2021) and “Breaking Point” (2022), which follow Captain Victor Coste. “Between Two Worlds” (2024) came out of a stay in the Calais migrant camp, and “The Winter Warriors” (2025), on the Finnish sniper Simo Häyhä during the Winter War, won two major French prizes.
