Nathan Archer is the pen name under which the American writer Lawrence Watt-Evans (born 1954) published his tie-in fiction. He adopted it in 1995 because bookshop chains ordered an author's new titles from previous sales regardless of genre, which penalised his science fiction against his better-selling fantasy. Titles signed Nathan Archer include the Star Trek novels Valhalla and Ragnarok (both 1995), Predator: Concrete Jungle (1995) and Predator: Cold War (1997), Mars Attacks: Martian Deathtrap (1996), Spider-Man: Goblin Moon (1999), and the Star Trek: Voyager comic False Colors (2000).
