Michel Rabagliati is a comics author from Quebec, born in Montreal in 1961. He worked as a graphic designer and as a press and advertising illustrator before turning to comics in his late thirties. "Paul in the Country" appeared in 1999, the first of ten largely autobiographical albums following one character from a teenage summer job to bereavement and old age; they have been published in English by Drawn & Quarterly and Conundrum Press as "Paul Has a Summer Job", "Paul Moves Out", "Paul Goes Fishing", "Paul Joins the Scouts", "Paul Up North" and "Paul at Home". The series won the series prize at the Angoulême festival in 2021.
