Mariana Zapata is an American romance novelist, known as the queen of the slow burn: long novels — often more than five hundred pages — in which the couple takes its time, with grumpy heroes who gradually thaw and independent heroines. Her books, mostly self-published, include The Wall of Winnipeg and Me, Kulti, Under Locke, Wait For It, From Lukov with Love, Dear Aaron, Luna and the Lie, The Wall of Winnipeg and Me's follow-up The Best Thing, Hands Down, All Rhodes Lead Here, The Things We Water and When Gracie Met The Grump. Sports settings, especially football and hockey, run through much of her work. She lives in Colorado.
