Kathy Reichs

Kathy Reichs is an American forensic anthropologist and novelist, born on 7 July 1948 in Chicago. She is one of few forensic anthropologists certified by the American Board and has consulted for the Chief Medical Examiner in North Carolina and Quebec. She published her first novel, “Déjà Dead”, in 1997, opening the Temperance Brennan series about a forensic anthropologist splitting her time between Charlotte and Montreal; some twenty volumes have appeared. The character inspired the Fox television series “Bones” (2005-2017), of which Reichs was a producer. She also writes the young-adult Virals series with her son Brendan.
