Jussi Adler-Olsen is a Danish crime novelist, born on 2 August 1950 in Copenhagen. He worked as a publisher and series editor before turning to fiction. His 2007 novel “The Keeper of Lost Causes” (Danish “Kvinden i buret”) opened the Department Q series, following Carl Mørck of the Copenhagen cold-case unit. Eleven volumes have appeared in Danish; the eleventh, written with Line Holm and Stine Bolther, reaches English as “No Song for the Dead” in September 2026. The series inspired the 2025 Netflix show “Dept. Q” with Matthew Goode.
