Henriette Bichonnier

Henriette Bichonnier (Clermont-Ferrand, 1943 - Paris, 2018) was a French writer and journalist who published around a hundred children's books. Her partnership with the illustrator Pef produced her best-known titles, starting with Le monstre poilu (1982) and its sequel, translated into English as The Hairy Monster. As a journalist she wrote for Pomme d'Api, F Magazine and Télérama, and later directed children's lists at Hachette and Nathan.
