François Lelord

Francois Lelord, born 22 June 1953 in Paris, is a French psychiatrist and writer. He earned his medical doctorate in 1985 at the University of Tours, did research at the University of California, Los Angeles, served as a clinical chief at the Necker hospital from 1986 to 1988, and went into private practice in 1990 while advising companies on stress management with Christophe Andre, with whom he co-wrote several psychology essays. He worked as a psychiatrist in Vietnam from 2003 to 2017 for the Alain Carpentier foundation. His novel Hector and the Search for Happiness (2002) has sold more than two million copies.
