Don Lawrence

Don Lawrence (1928-2003) was a British comics artist, born in London and died in Sussex. He made his name in British magazines of the 1960s with Karl the Viking and Olac the Gladiator, then with The Rise and Fall of the Trigan Empire, which he painted in gouache from 1965 to 1976 for Look and Learn. In 1976 he created the science-fiction series Storm for the Dutch weekly Eppo, written from 1980 by Martin Lodewijk and running to twenty-three albums, published in English by Titan Books. He received the Dutch Stripschapprijs in 1994 and was made a Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau in 2003.
