A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Indiana University, she worked as a freelance audio-visual production manager while writing four Star Trek novels between 1987 and 1994: Dreams of the Raven, The Children of Hamlin, Doomsday World — co-written with Michael Jan Friedman, Peter David and Robert Greenberger — and The Devil's Heart, her first hardcover.
